PiMPiN
After deciding to go for it and see if I could get a modified boot logo working, I noticed something that to myself is strange with my boot.ini file. On all hte other machines I've worked with (Win2K and XP), the lines were all similar to this: multi(0)disk(1)rdisk(0)partition(1)WINDOWS My current boot.ini file is like so (random numbers and letters replaced with *'s): signature(********)disk(1)rdisk(0)partition(1)WINDOWS Anyone know what this could be referring to and if it's something that I can just easily change back to the default? Any help would be appreciated.
fr33k
I don't know what thats referring to, but there is a backup bootini just unhide hidden files and you will see the boot.bak just rename it to boot.ini
PiMPiN
Thanks for the tip freek, but that file also has the same settings. I decided to try and change it to the default by adding a second boot option, keeping the first as a failsafe just in case, and when I tried to boot using the multi(0) method, I got an error and it wouldn't boot. If anyone else that reads this has anything similar to what I've got, and knows what it is, please let me know. Any other help would also be appreciated.
