Chode
Which was stolen from Predator :p If you wanna see brief animation of this, check out what is referred to as the "dynamic weather cycle trailer". From 3D Gamers... 400x224, 3:05, DivX 640x368, 3:05, DivX Those aren't direct links, just pick a mirror. At the end of the movie we see brief instances of this monster in action...I think it's munching on a dead corpse.

Laughing-Man
For some reason this monster is not very appealing to me. It seems like the same old classic undead monster that is looking to eat brains. It is sort of getting old. This one reminds me of a cross between an imp from the original Doom and one of the zombies from Half-Life.

It's a mutation from the radiation and anomalies around Chernobyl, and the survival of the fittest mutants.... think of it as evolution on steroids

By that I mean it is not something that makes me go "wow, that is a really cool monster." Perhaps they need to go to the Silent Hill creators for a lesson on scary and messed up monsters. Chode
I do not think they are going for the cheap scares idea (not saying Silent Hill was cheap scares....that game messed with your head  ) I think they are aiming for a world so immersive and realistic that any scares are realistic, as in "Holy crap, while I was limping away from that soldier after getting shot in the arm, I didn't expect a mutant to start following my blood trail....and I can barely aim this gun with a shot up arm, so I can't kill it at a distance" (I'm not making that up, localised body damage, and blood trails are both gonna be in the game :D ) But at least in this game you will be able to "be jumping at your own shadow".....as the player will cast his own shadow (unlike the Unreal 2 engine)
