Xbox One Insider Preview build 15063.1003 now available in Alpha ring - here's what's new

Microsoft today is introducing a new Xbox One Insider Preview build to the Alpha ring, bringing the build number to 15063.1003, or rs2_release_xbox_1703.170321-1800. It's the first one since Tuesday, which saw the release of 15063.1001, a build that's now available in the Beta ring and Preview Ring 3.

Unsurprisingly, there are no new features, since the Creators Update is now just a few weeks away. Instead, it focuses on fixes, so here's what got improved:

  • In-Game Purchases
Fixed an issue which prevented users from purchasing in-game content in certain games (including Overwatch and Destiny).
NOTE: This fix was applied on 3/22/17 and should now be resolved for all affected users (you do not need to download the latest system update to resolve this).

  • Skate 3
Skate 3 should no longer crash to Home after attempting to join a Quick Match.

  • Sign-In
Fixed an issue which could sometimes prevent users from signing-in.

  • Miscellaneous
    Miscellaneous fixes and improvements.

Of course, there are still a couple of known issues:

  • Settings - Display & sound
The Audio output page is under construction and some of the new settings are not yet functional. New support is planned for Dolby Atmos for home theater, Dolby Atmos for headphones, and more in upcoming builds. An announcement will be made when these new features are ready to try out; enabling these settings now will have no effect.

  • Wireless Display
The Wireless Display app fails to launch and immediately crashes to Home.

We can actually tell a lot about today's 15063.1003 build number. Many are speculating that 15063 is the RTM build for the Creators Update, and this only strengthens that idea, as we're now seeing a cumulative update for the build, rather than an entirely new build.

Indeed, 15063 is now the build number for phones on the Fast ring, PCs on the Fast and Slow rings, and Xbox One consoles in the top three rings of the Xbox Insider Program. The link to download the official SDK has leaked online as well.

Further confirmation of build 15063 being the RTM will come when it hits Insider rings that are reserved for updates that will roll out to the general public, such as Preview Ring 4 for Xbox and Release Preview for Windows.
