Brian C.
I'm not sure I understand. Do you already have a zip program like Winzip? If so just right-click on a zip file, choose open with.., choose Winzip, and check "Always Use This Program". From then on, only Winzip will open zip files and not Windows. mariusu
yeah, i already have winzip, and that'S why i want to disable the windows xp zip-folders feature, since it's really slow compared to winzip or winrar and i don't use it (win xp has native support for zip archives so zip archives are shown as folders---so, /me wants to disable this so that xp shows zip files as files) i read something about a command...dllunregister or something, but this was long time ago, and i forgot it :)
suprfli
Do what Brian C said...there is a button in WinZip options that says "Associations." Click on the associations and associate it w/the .zip extension. You can do the same thign in WinRAR. You can even do this through, folder options/file types and change the associations. That should give you enough options to do what you want to do. Also, Mod's might want to move this to the Help forum since this isn't really a customization question. :knocked:
+primortal Subscriber² Posted February 4, 2002 Subscriber² Share Posted February 4, 2002 I think you can go to the control panel 'Add/Remove Programs' and un-install it. I don't remember were. Its in the 'Add/Remove Windows Components' section I believe.
