Update: German Police provide more details and confirm Marc Batra is "ok" but in a state of shock:




The incident reportedly took place around six miles away from the Westfalenstadion in Hochsten, as the team left their hotel. Bild also report a device was planted on the street, which exploded and shattered windows on the bus.

As we detailed earlier, professional German soccer team Borussia Dortmund have confirmed their team bus has been involved in an explosion ahead of their Champions League quarter-final against Monaco with defender Marc Bartra reported to have been taken to hospital.


Translated: "Bomb explosion near the team bus at the team hotel. Player in security. No danger in the and at the stadium. More information to follow."



According to Bildan explosive was deposited on the street in front of the bus although police have yet to give any more details.


Reports in Germany named the injured person as Spain international Bartra, with the 26-year-old having been taken to a local hospital,  where his injuries are thought to be 'superficial.'

Dortmund bus terror arrest: German-Russian man 'carried out bomb attack to make money then blamed Muslims'

Police have arrested a German-Russian citizen on Friday morning on suspicion of carrying out the attack on the Borussia Dortmund team bus last Tuesday, with prosecutors alleging that the bombing was motivated by financial greed.
