mrelusive978
:ninja: I bought AVP II (Aliens Vs. Predator) the other night. Cost me $50. Great game. Runs fantastic on my G3/900/Radeon 7K 64MB. However: I had to install the game THREE times before I got sound. If I have all four of my monitors hooked up, it will ONLY run on my second display, no matter how I have the monitors hooked up or the arrangement of the cards in my comp. If I move the 21" to the secondary card, it STILL runs on the 17" secondary. The only way to get it to run on my main monitor is to disconnect the second display.... ....and when I do THAT, it switches my Hitachi 21" into a refresh rate that I cannot use, causing me to have sound but no video! (BTW, ONI does the same thing...) ...and their tech support is of no help at all: Hello, AvP 2 is not supported with dual monitors. Because the game was not written for this, there is no way to edit any config file to allow a second monitor to function. The refresh rate can be forced from the OS. In the 'Displays' tab inside the System Profiler, you will be able to select different refresh rates to run in. You may need to select different resolutions before 60Hz will show up. I followed these directions only to get the same results. So I spent $50 on a game I won't even play b/c of this. ...time to boycott MacPlay. :ninja:

mrelusive978
 The oint being that even if I took all my other screens off and went to one monitor (the 21"), I wouldn't be able to play the damn game anyway b/c of the refresh issue...I mean seriously, it would have taken the programmers all of a second to add a dialog to let me pick the monitor and refresh before playing...when the Red Pill SS came out, it didnt have this feature...I emailed the guy and it was done in about an HOUR. I just wish that game companies thought of this kind of **** in the first place...one of the reasons I upgraded my computer to a 900 was for this game...BTW, none of the OTHER games from MacPlay (namely RealMYST and AVP I) will work on my Hitachi either...they ALL give me the damn blank monitor refresh issue. It is stupid. :ninja:

Wickedkitten Veteran Posted January 18, 2004 Veteran Share Posted January 18, 2004 tbh, there aren't that many games that are that old that were meant to run on a dual monitor setup, let alone 4 monitors. Why not try selling the game on ebay and spending the money on something else
