chang
I'm about to try SuSE recently, but there're two options in front of me: SuSE 8.2 and SuSE 9.0, and I heard that 8.2 is a more successful release than 9.0 (some people said 9.0 is really disappointing). So, I'm not sure which one to go to really. Can anyone give some comments about these two releases? Thx a lot.
configure Veteran Posted January 18, 2004 Veteran Share Posted January 18, 2004 Well, lets see why SuSE 9.0 is a "disappointing" release then make a decision. I would choose the up-to-date distro to start with then patch it from there if I were you.
KenLin
I think the only thing dissapointing about 9 was that it wasn't all that different than 8.2. Having said that, 9 was a huge improvement for me because of beter ACPI support.

(but I also found SuSE 8.2 is out of stock now in UK :( )
Xe|oN
Why not just download the free version of SuSE 9 and give it a shot?
