Paradox Interactive announce city-builder game 'Surviving Mars' for PC, Xbox One, and PS4

The Cities: Skylines and other well-known simulation game publisher, Paradox Interactive, has unveiled a brand new city-building and management game. Developed by Haemimont Games, known for its Tropico series, the new game titled Surviving Mars leaves planet Earth entirely and, as suspected by its name, takes place on Mars. The game's debut trailer is seen above.

The game tasks players with building a thriving Mars colony, starting off small, using supply drops and rovers, then going on to constructing habitats capable of hosting settlers from Earth.

In addition, players must take care to meet the inhabitants' various and growing needs, with Haemimont Games CEO Gabriel Dobrev going on to explain the importance of this balance, saying the colonists "aren’t just working to improve production, they’re struggling to survive, and their conflicts and concerns are intense."

"Surviving Mars lets you understand what your colonists are dealing with on an individual level," he added, "and coming up with creative plans for those needs will be a new challenge for our fans."

Surviving Mars does not have a definite release date yet, with the developer only revealing a 2018 release window on its trailer. The game is set to arrive for quite a number of platforms, including Windows, Mac, Linux, as well as Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

The game's official website can be found here.
