The unofficial GarageBand thread

Recommended Posts

i like the idea of this thread and was hoping someone would start one (Y)

unfortunately i did not receive my garage band and USB keyboard on the 16th like i was told it would, and my delivery date is now the 21st according to apples sites order status. so after the 21st i am definitely down to post some of my creations as well...

I uh... made one...

Kinda feel like Elton John popped into my Mac and started playing piano

Spent only about 20 minutes, mostly because my iBook isn't the fastest in the world and it took awhile to find "acceptable" tracks...

So, uh... here we go...

First One

Right-click and Save :D

To save yourself a whole click: hold down option and click on the links - it will save right to your desktop (in safari anyway)

EDIT: has anyone dones songs recording live from either MIDI/USB piano? If so, can you eat the sheet after you've played it or do you have to record over?

I've made a few. Grapevine is still a work in progress. :p

Intro Groove

Ace of Spades

Grapevine

You must right click > Save

ALL LINKS WORK NOW! Sorry about before.

Mike, you are really talented. Grapevine is shaping up very nicely. I definitely want to hear it when it's done.

Do you have the GB Jam Pack? I just have GB and there doesn't seem to be nearly enough sounds to compose with.

Question:

I haven't got my copy of iLife 04 yet (stupid student store). Anyway, I have a project for one of my classes in school. We're writting a version of "Name That Tune" as part of that. I was wondering if you guys would mind if I bundled your songs as "sample" music - You'd all get full credit, braggin rights, etc.

It reads music from your iTunes music library but I thought it would be cool to include some original tracks too. Might be a good way to show off another killer Apple product the the predominately Windows-using class.

I have no problem with that..

I have other stuff if you want, Nothing is complete but if your just looking for samples then sure..

Also it is very easy to make your own if you have GarageBand with there included samples......CC

Nope, I don't mind at all. Go right ahead!

Whenever I listen to almost any work from Garageband... the first thing that comes to mind are Pixar Animation Shorts.

...maybe it's only me... but it is great when a short little clip brings forth such vivid images of your own to accompany the sounds.

But more importantly... I just enjoy how well most works could be incorporated into your own multimedia works, it's all grand.

Great job on all the posted works... AND let me tell you Mike, Grapevine, is sheer brilliance, thus far. Excellent job.
