MulletRobZ
I'm a bit confused on this topic, since there are some packages that are classified as Slackware 9.1 only and some that are designed for older versions of Slackware. I would like to know if I can install Slackware 9.1 packages in Slackware 9.0 without having too many difficulties. I think it's possible, but I thought I'd check just to be sure. markwolfe Veteran Posted January 20, 2004 Veteran Share Posted January 20, 2004 I think that if it is a binary install, it may have problems, as other parts of the OS may have changed, breaking the binary compatability... However, if it is a .tar.gz file with source... Those will almost always compile and run, as you make the binary from the source on your own PC. [DISCLAIMER: I am not a Slack user]
