Advertising Standards to get tough on gender stereotypes

There should be stronger regulation of advertisements which show men failing at simple household tasks and women left to clean up, says the body that oversees UK advertising.

The Advertising Standards Authority has reviewed its approach to ads that feature stereotypical gender roles.

It concluded that ads that mock people for not conforming to gender types or reinforce gender roles had "costs for individuals, the economy and society".

As a result new rules will be drawn up.

How silly. Should I be offended when the I.T. stereotype gets thrown around? What about someone calling me a ginger? Both have been used as jokes against me by friends and strangers, people just need to grow some thicker skin. Before long, all adverts will feature this guy:

I'm more an Edgar Friendly kinda of guy. Screw the Taco Bell,  gimme a beer & brats - heavy on the kraut and horseradish mustard. And I will not use seashells or pay the &$0@/% #@%*ing swearing fines.
