Microsoft announced the Games with Gold for August, 2017 today. If you're an Xbox Live Gold member, you should definitely be checking these out every month, as it offers four free games (two Xbox One and two backward compatible Xbox 360), as long as you claim them within the specified dates.
Here are this month's Games with Gold:
Slime Rancher (Xbox One, August 1 - 31)
This game is a work in progress. It may or may not change over time or release as a final product. Purchase only if your are comfortable with the current state of the unfinished game.
Slime Rancher is the tale of Beatrix LeBeau, a plucky, young rancher who sets out for a life a thousand light years away from Earth on the ‘Far, Far Range’ where she tries her hand at making a living wrangling slimes. Trials Fusion (Xbox One, August 16 - September 15)

Red Faction: Armageddon (Xbox 360, August 16 - 31)

Both of the Xbox 360 games announced are already on the Backward Compatibility list; in fact, Red Faction: Armageddon was just added today among two others, bringing the list over its latest milestone of 400 games.
You've still got about a week to claim this month's Games with Gold, including Grow Up (Xbox One) and LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean (Xbox 360). Also, Runbow (Xbox One) will remain free for Xbox Live Gold members until August 15.
