JohnsonBox
Will You Be so Cruel to Your Dog? if your dog swallowed your money A clerk in a railway station in China recently killed his big dog for he was suspecting that his dog has eaten his $240, and"fortunately" he fianlly got back $200 from the dog's tummy. http://news.sina.com.cn/s/2004-01-21/15212690548.shtml I am also skeptical that you western guys might want to kill your dog for this reason... ButI wonder will you do so?
Dudda
surely it would just come out of the other end?
John S. Veteran Posted January 21, 2004 Veteran Share Posted January 21, 2004 Neither of my two cats would suffer death if they'd eaten money. I'm sure the vet could offer a viable option that would spare their lives. Although they most likely couldn't pass $200, surgery would be an option I would seek more for the wellbeing of my pet than the money.
WigglesTheFish
woah... i could never do that to my cat, i love him too much... i would only make sure that he would be okay after eating $200 and would just forget about the money if my one-eyed cat would be alright... :)
Dudda
acctually coun't you just put your finger down their throat and make it puke, although personally my cat is priceless.
callanish
China doesn't give a rats ass about animals unless its a Panda and hell knows why that is. Something like this doesn't surprise me. Let me sum up my position on this. I'd kill a human for stealing $240.00 from me before I'd kill an animal for eating it. The reason; the human did it intentionally, the animal didn't. Anyway, this whole story is a metaphor for the world in general in that money seems to be more important than life. All I can say is let's hope their is accountability in the Universe or we're all screwed because stories like this just remind me of how dumb and selfish we all are. aem4162
i'd never do anything to harm my cats....and they've at one time or another barfed or tinkled on my money. i just clean it off and pass it along...
Iain
That's messed up. So many people harming animals these days. Plus it's not like you'll get the money back in very good condition anyway.

MxxCon
don't chinese consider dogs as a valid food source? so he killed 2 birds w/ one stone
iMonkey
I could never be that cruel, well not to an animal, they do not do things purposefully, whereas humans who deliberately do bad things should be shot imho.
RadishTM Veteran Posted January 21, 2004 Veteran Share Posted January 21, 2004 Hell no, I would never do that to my cats, stuff the $200 - it don't mean nothing when it comes to an animals life. Radish?
shermang
Well since most dogs cost well over $200 I wouldn't dream of killing mine just to get $240. ...Oh yeah and no of course I woudln't kill my dog, I'm a normal person.

Ji@nBing
that's just sick. 200 is a LOT of money in china though, and a lot of them just don't value animals lives like we do in the west. not that i'm defending him. HE should be gutted and have things removed from his stomach
EVO VIII
imo this is just plain wrong, but seeing that i know how impoverished people in china could be, i wouldnt be too quick to pass any sort of judgment as to why they would do such a thing. Wannes
No way, I won't take away the life of my dog cause he ate $200. A dog is worth more then that anyways. I mean $200 is nothing really, i'd rather ahve my dog then $200.
NetGX
Well my dog is vicious but still I could never hurt him, the rail person probably didn't like his pet very much and didn't want to pay money for the vet so he thought he would have a go himself, although if you aren't responsible enough to have a pet why get one in the first place

jaffa
that's just sick. 200 is a LOT of money in china though, and a lot of them just don't value animals lives like we do in the west. not that i'm defending him. HE should be gutted and have things removed from his stomach same here. i would never harm animals.. unless they are insects :shifty: but the main point is that 250 bucks is a looot of money in china. don't get me wrong here but most people don't even earn 250 dollars a month.. when i was in china 2 years ago i bought a looot of stuff for 100 dollar. our bus chauffer earned like 32 dollars a week so thats not even 200 dollars a month  .. and anyways in china they don't care a lot for animals. hell in the hotel i was staying they even serverd dog meat (yes not only in vietnam.. china also does that) ..

aco Veteran Posted January 21, 2004 Veteran Share Posted January 21, 2004 I can't read that article but I don't understand. Wouldn't the dog rip up the notes before eating them? Surely wouldn't swallow whole notes. Why would a dog eat money in the first place?
mopper
Why would a dog eat money in the first place? maybe cause the owner dipped the bills in chocolate.
+Dick Montage Subscriber² Posted January 21, 2004 Subscriber² Share Posted January 21, 2004 A dog probably would chew them but not rip them, the way they use their teeth and all. Plus making a dog vomit is really easy. So killing seems a bit harsh!
