chandwpl
Hi, I'm a newbie here and enjoying reading topics in the forum. I am basically drowning in paperwork at home. What my friend has at the office is a photocopier which is able to scan a bunch of documents (double sided), and then email the output as 1 PDF file to my friend. I would like to do something similar at home. Any suggestions of what machines can do this please? Thanks in advance! PS no, I can't ask my friend to do it cos there is a block on sending data files externally.
Circaflex
Do you already own a printer at home? Most printers these days have this option built into their scanning software, I know 100% HP has this feature. You would want a printer with an auto document feeder so you could lay a stack of documents on the tray and it will scan them all for you.
chandwpl
Thx Circaflex, I don't but I think my sister owns this :- https://support.hp.com/gb-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-photosmart-c4700-all-in-one-printer-series/3794613/model/3794614 It does have a feeder but I wasn't aware it could scan a batch of documents. I will check. Thank you!
StrikedOut
If you do need to purchase one, make sure its does duplex. this is the part that scans/prints both sides. Also double check the scan output does do PDF.
PGHammer
Also, in addition to printers that scan to PDF format, there is software that includes similar functionality - Word, for example, has included such since 2013.
