My new 40 GIG iPod!

Recommended Posts

Well, since it was my birthday a while ago, some people forgot to get me gifts. And when I was walking out of school, someone (my friends mom) said "hi" and then pulled out a 40 GIG iPod. I was like holy s**t. She knew I had always wanted an iPod. I feel that I can't live without the iPod now and that the iPod has made my life easier. No more burning cd's.... I'm so happy.

I'm just so amazed on how simple it was. Got it. Took it out of the box, hooked it up via FireWire, and downloaded all 610 of my current songs onto the iPod in under 3 minutes. I also love the earbuds- best ones I've ever owned- seriously. I usually hate these kind of buds but these just kicked ass. Sound quality is amazing- better than CD quality. There is only one major problem. The touch scroll and touch buttons. They are way too sensitive. I would either like for it to be less sensitive or just regular buttons (but those are just boring) But I really enjoy the iPod. I always get gifts that I will like for the first day or so, and then say they're crap. The is one of the only gthings so far (besides my laptop and a couple of other things) that I can never get "bored" of because there are so many songs that can be put on the iPod. And if I fill up the 10,000 songs (i dont know how I would) then I'd get rid of the old songs. My favorite features on the iPod are: Games. All of them. Especialy the new Music Quiz. (very clever) I also like the feature of alarm, nice to know that if you leave your iPod somewhere and can't find it, you can set it to beep as an alarm at a certain time )or to a playlist) On-The-Go playlists mean nothing to me, unless I'm really bored. I like rating songs right on the iPod, because when you're listening to a song when you're traveling and want to rate it for when you get home, there ya go. Also: one question. Can you put normal data files on a mounted iPod and use the iPod as an MP3 player/hard drive? Is this possible? Also: where are the actual music files located? I mounted the iPod but only showed Calendar Contacts and Notes folders. Thanks a ton.

Yes, you can use it as a hard drive. Just open up iTunes, select your iPod on the right, in the lower left one of the buttons is options for the iPod. That opens up a window and you can select use iPod in Firewire mode or something like that.

You won't see the music files, they're hidden on the iPod. They also have some weird directory structure, so it wouldn't be of much use to see them anyways.

nah. i like the iPod's interface, use iTunes, and have been whining about it for a while. plus, someone gave me $300 CAD, so its not that much money n e ways.

and the price i payed (365 CAD ) is about $281 USD, so i saved $18 USD :D and thats b4 tax. :p
