Help removing MSP files

Recommended Posts

HI all, looking for some help.

I have 35GB of MSP files that is eating up space on my SSD. Now i know that some of the files will be required but is there a way to remove the ones that are no longer required?

Cheers

Run a disk cleanup, and then before selecting the files you should see the option to cleanup System Files. That should safely remove the update files that are no longer needed.

Thanks for that reply, however, that does not remove unused MSP files.

I have done the all the basic deletes and clean ups, however, MSP files in the registry are sitting a 35GB. Some will be required but certainly not 35GB

Any other ideas?

What OS version? and MSP files aren't in the registry, they are standalone files. I am guessing you are on Windows 7 with patch after patch after patch installed. Might be time for a fresh load and the latest cumulative patch to bring it all up to date.

You could also try this - http://www.homedev.com.au/free/patchcleaner#tabs-4

Never used it myself.

There is also prob going to be msi files as well.  The patchcleaner xendrome linked too should be fine - and it has a move function vs delete if your wanting to be careful.

Don't forget to use this to clean up old drivers, especially NVIDIA drivers at 400MB a pop
