Your thoughts on Far Cry?

after playing the SP demo, i am quite dissapointed. The game grpahics is cool, but the gameplay is kind of boring. we just run around and shoot stuff, feels like every other FPS. what do you guys think? i think i won't be buying this game, lol.

I loved the game; it's not like those childish RPG. Even at medium it was little hard and sometime it's like splinter cell (well Splinter Cell 2) get into the bushes to avoid flying bullet especially with AI auto balance. And there is a mission to accomplish.

I am sorry to tell you l77Il7H if you don't like this game u better go back to sims or other game like that.

Viusally, this was probably one the better FPS games I've played. Controls are pretty much standard as well as gameplay, nothing that really sets it apart from other FPS. However, it does seem to be, after playing it, alot better than most other FPS. Felt really smooth, well done and gave lots of variety in guns (pistol (deagle?), m4, mp5, awp, rpg, knife) and this was just the demo. It is just another FPS, but it's one of the better FPS right up there with HL, Quake, BF1942, CoD, etc.

Only that I finally know a video card upgrade will be a necessity in a couple of months. On High Detail, I could not move around without it jerking around on me. I still won't buy into any of the current cards though.

I really liked it. But there are several bugs that most likely would be fixed for the final. It's more like a beta demo if you ask me... I think the gameplay is rather good, actually like the autosaving. It makes the game more challenging, the first time I was very nervous to get seen. I'm a bit tired of alle the fps where you can quicksave every minute..

I think this game is going to have great sp, just the feeling you get while your playing you must sneak past guards you must drive your boat in without being seen, graphics are amazing I think, plus physics are great too.

I might just buy this one.

I can max out the graphics on my Geforce 5200, Athlon 2600XP+ and still get reasonable FPS which is quite a rarity for me.

To be playable I lower the details and stuff, but it's a sweet looking game.

The vegatation is quite nice indeed as well as the water.

The enemy's still see me from far away. (Which I suppose is realistic, but different to most games) Although I was 2 feet from one, hidden behind a tree and he didn't have a clue. It's nice and random like that.

it's also easy to get killed, especially by the chopper or boat gunners. Which is a nice or not nice change.

Very nice, but a few creases need ironing out. (85% seems a good score for the demo.)

i like it so far

i'm getting about 40fps with 1280x1024 with 2xAA 8xAF

and everything else set to the highest level

which isn't bad, and this just proves how bad halo is, trying to run halo on the same setings and you get about 7fps.

and far cry looks allot better

Did you guys watch the video preview from IGN??

Had some interesting things to say. One being that reinforcements are usually called in by chopper or whatever instead of just spawning out of nowhere, which you can then take out in a preemptive strike. It was cool to see th guys falling out of the chopper :)
