First Azure Stack integrated system now shipping

Today at its Ignite event, Microsoft announced that it, along with its partners, has completed work on the initial release of Azure Stack. The first Azure Stack integrated systems from Dell EMC, Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Lenovo, have now shipped. Azure Stack integrated systems from Cisco are also ready to order now, with Wortmann planning to introduce terra integrated systems for Azure Stack by the end of the year and Avanade now offering a fully managed solution enabling a single point of purchase.

Natalia Mackevicius, Director of Azure Stack, said:

“Azure and Azure Stack deliver the industry’s only truly consistent hybrid cloud platform, which enabled a unified approach to application development and unlocks completely new use case scenarios, as well as pay-as-you-use pricing. Customers are investing in a hybrid cloud model using Azure and Azure stack – including AVID, ABSA Bank, ANZ Bank, Mitsui Knowledge Industry, Saxo Bank, and Schlumberger.”

Aside from announcing that Azure Stack systems are now shipping, Microsoft also announced new Azure Stack training and certification courses for IT Pros. The company said it’s investing in an Azure Stack Operator-focused Learning Path and a certification exam. These will help you gain the skills you need to manage and operate Azure hybrid clouds and show that you know how to use these systems. The exam will be available from Q1 2018 but you can prepare with the ‘Configuring and Operating a Hybrid Cloud with Microsoft Azure Stack’ course.
