Sharpstick68
This question is in reguards to my Madden NFL 2004 game I play for pc. In the madden.ini file is the game settings and I came across Video Texture Compression and Video Texture Depth. For Video Texture Compression the setting is either On/Off and it is Off and for Video Texture Depth the setting is either 0/16/32 and it is set on 0. These settings were like that and I didn't change nothing, just wondering if I should change them or what not, and what do they mean. And if it helps, I run a NVIDIA GeForce FX5200 128MB Graphics card. Thanks
MxxCon
in texture depth 0 means automaticly pick best mode, 16 and 32 means 16bit and 32bit color textures. higher is better. texture compression means that videocard will compress some textures to increase performance, however there will be minor texture quality degradation. if you are getting good framerates, leave compression off. otherwise try enabling it and see if you notice any difference in performance and/or image quality
