Upgrading graphics card

Recommended Posts

Hello!!

I'm a big gamer playing eso and black desert online. Anymore I've been lagging in the games and getting pretty slow loading rates.

Right now I'm running an evga gtx 760.

I was thinking about upgrading to this

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01M5BQRIO/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1507139392&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=evga+geforce+gtx+1050+ti&dpPl=1&dpID=51zT01KVBEL&ref=plSrch

I was curious if that graphics card would be a big enough change to see a difference? I'm currently running with an amd quad core processor 3.2 ghz and 16 gb ddr3 ram.

I was hoping this card would be a much better advantage overall or if it's not too much greater?

I would recommend the Geforce GTX 1060 3GB

You can get one for ~$200

ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1060 Mini 3GB

EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB GAMING

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 Mini ITX OC 3GB

I have a 450W power supply would that work on the 1060?

Also silly question but how would I know if it's compatible with my motherboard?

I guess it depends on how good of a power supply it is, but NVIDIA recommends a 400W power supply

https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/products/10series/geforce-gtx-1060/

If your motherboard has a PCIe slot (and it probably does), the graphic card would work.

If your computer's PSU can handle a GTX760 ... it most certainly can handle a 1060.

But either the 1050ti or 1060 will give you a much needed boost. I would also recommend the 1060 if you can afford it.

Guess I'm getting a 1060 thank you!!

One more question though, my gtx 760 has 4gb gddr5 while the 1060 has 3gb, what about it makes it much better with less gddr memory?

Not sure if you're interested, but I am selling a new condition Zotac 1070 Founder's Edition. I'll let you have it for the same price as that 1060 you are looking at. PM me if interested.

it will be a decent boost, and will do 1080p gaming, they may be low end but they are decent, it should handle those games nps
