Sea of Thieves holds open call for Technical Alpha testers

Sea of Thieves has been teased for quite a while. The game first made an appearance in 2016 and has since been shown off several times over the course of the year. While it still doesn't have a firm release date, we do know that it is coming in early 2018. Before this happens, it appears that Microsoft still needs to do a bit more testing and has announced an open call for its Technical Alpha.

The game can be played on the Xbox One and on a Windows 10 PC and only requires those interested to join the Insider Program by December 1. By doing so, you'll be invited to the next play session which should be its largest yet. It has been a year since its first Technical Alpha was announced and things have evolved quite a bit, housing an initial 1,000 players to almost 200,000 at its peak.

Again, you will need to sign up and also have an Xbox Live Account with Gold membership. Those that join the Insider Program will also be bound by a nondisclosure agreement (NDA), which means that you can't stream or show off the content to others. If you have any concerns, be sure to check out the FAQ before signing up.
