ibook_gurl
Im thinkin of adding more ram to my ibook and i just wanna know how easy it is to do it yourself, or would it be easier to get a professional to do it?
Iguana
It is pretty easy, especially since Apple provides detailed instructions. :)
sebaz
Its pretty easy..shut down ur ibook..let it cool for a couple of minutes if it has been for quite a while..pop the battery out...now this is how my 12 in powerbook is set up, shouldnt be too different to an ibook..in the center theres a rectangle with 4 screws..unscrew them..pop the lid off...BAM..theres ur memory..take that one out buy pushing the black holding thingies to the side. After u took the RAM out, insert the new one at a 30 degree angle...ok just put it a bit to an angle and push it down it should go in with not alot of resistance. Thats it. Actually, surprisingly enough, the PowerBook and the iBook are pretty different in the way you insert the memory and cards. Most of the stuff on the iBook goes under the keyboard. Most of the stuff in the PowerBook is on the underside.
