Batfink
Congratulations... You Downloaded, Installed and Ran Illegal Content. In doing so you contributed to Valve's decision to push back the release of Half-Life 2, was it worth it? :D 'Course it was!! ;) The Half-Life 2 Leaked Alpha is crackin' fun :pinch: But no-where near what the release will be  Hopefully :pinch:

DigitalN.
oh man.... HL2 has been delayed too long. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. I.S. G.O.I.N.G. T.O. B.E. B.E.T.T.E.R.
Terrigamer
Actually, wasnt it proven already that what was leaked which was like a week or two before their given sept 28th or 30th release date was what they had? I.e the game wasn't ready? If so i'd imagine that would be a big reason for the delay. ALOT is missing from the leaked version.
RZombie
http://www.halfliferadio.com/forums/showth...=&threadid=1579 this is not it, but it shows its 2004 sept

That would be impossible as the videos Valve released from E3 had many of the textures and objects/features that were missing from the leak. Therefore it was most likely an early alpha build. Remember, the guys that stole this build also stole the source code, which could easily allow them to have changed the date displayed in the game. Or that date may have been added as a reminder to the build that was leaked which may have been a copy that was set aside as a backup and which development was never continued on. SaguratuS
Actually the leaked beta is quite similar to the game / videos used at E3. What you saw in those videos were scripts - the AI, actions, everything. You can even check in the leaked beta, the scripts are there - read them and you'll be quite disappointed. The game was far from being done - everything was in more of a "proof of concept" like stage, even the physics engine had severe flaws. Even if this leak was from a year earlier, I doubt they could have finished it by 2004. All we can really do is sit back and wait for valve to release it, when they do it's bound to be an amazing game. Keep in mind that if you played the beta, you saw only a VERY small bug-filled part of the actual game.
Chode
Old news. Source leaked, pre-alpha leaked. All the big discussions were at halflife2.net. Valve sucks. Happened months ago. Best thing to come out of it were bits and pieces of the original Half Life 1 code mixed among the leaked source.

THE STORE SAID SO THEM SELFS, THEY HAVE NO INSIDE INFO...
