asy1mpo
Hi I downloaded the icons from jabinc.cjb.net Most of the icons look fine but some look corrupt. The icons has some outline around it all 'blotchy'. I am viewing here at work on Win2k (1280x1024, 32bit colour...) Do i need to view it in XP? Thanks
BroChaos Veteran Posted February 6, 2002 Veteran Share Posted February 6, 2002 yeah, that should be your problem. you need xp to support the 8bit alpha layer (which makes them look smooth in XP).
Dazzla Veteran Posted February 6, 2002 Veteran Share Posted February 6, 2002 These icons will only work in Windows XP because Win2k doesn't support alpha blended icons.
spike232
there actualy quite a few icons in there that apere with the greay round them in xp, but its the icons fault, a lot of them do not have xp support, and some of them have badly done shodowing. should 2k not just show the true colour or 256 and ingnore the xp one?? Dazzla Veteran Posted February 6, 2002 Veteran Share Posted February 6, 2002 well If the desktop is set to 32 bit, it tries to use the 32bit icons and doesn't interpret the 8bit alpha transparency correctly. I think. correct me if I'm wrong
