suntzu
Well my new powerbook is the pooh. My G5 is all that I hoped it could be! My iPod saved my mom from insanity in the hospital this week. And today I broke down and got the finishing touch... I got the 23" HD Cinema Display..... The horrible thing is I am moving on Saturday so my whole lab is packed away  I will post pics Saturday or Sunday of the whole setup. Thanks for all the great advice. Hey SFNE - Buy the logitech because it works really well with our powerbook.

Elliott
Hardly. I'm just curious what he is using all these toys for. I would use my G5 as my main computer, and when I need to go somewhere like a conference, I load whatever Keynote presentations, movie files, etc. that I need and go. And the iPod, well, that's a luxury. :p

suntzu
I mainly use the powerbook for work. I am a network administrator for Atomic Park. The G5 and cinema display are the main family computer. It also doubles as our "digital picture frame". I do some minimal gaming with it, but I am so used to large display areas. At work I use 2 19" crt's, on my windows gaming machine I have 2 18.2" flat panels so I think this is a good fit. I also spend alot of time working from home so I need as much display area as possible when I am remoting into our web servers etc.. One thing I have noticed is that Apple equipment holds its value like an autopgraphed pair of halle berry's panties! I would rather invest in it, and know I am going to get 80% and up if I decide to sell it. PC hardware on the other hand is like a car you loose %40 value on the first boot lol.... I sacrificed a buttload of my windows systems, and other displays and equipment in general to russle up the dough for all this stuff. I had 2 choices new car, or all my new toys, apple won... Max Veteran Posted January 26, 2004 Veteran Share Posted January 26, 2004 isnt that thing like a few thousand USD? I can imagine my flat when i'm older. Its going to be really crap with wallpaper falling off the walls, no carpets, leaks everywhere.......and upstairs in my bedroom theres going to be a ?50,000 Mac setup with Dual G6 4Ghz with 30" widescreen monitors (or whatever they have then).
