Booting Red Hat 9

Recommended Posts

I installed Red Hat 9 onto its own ata 100 40gb hard drive that is connected to the first ata-100 adapter on my intel D865GBF motherboard and I have a Seagate 120gb on Sata-0, I want to have a GUI menu to let me choose what OS to boot on startup without a floppy if its possible because Windows XP Pro starts like normal.

Sounds like you need LILO or GRUB.

However, you want a pretty "graphical" screen??? I know that you can add a nice background image into GRUB (RedHat does this by default).

Not sure how exactly to do this, as I really don't reboot at all... (I don't do Windows at home)

But, this link appears to be a how-to on the subject.

I just took a floppy from an old computer sitting here and got Red Hat 9 to boot from floppy and it works perfectly so now everything works.
