metal_dragen Veteran Posted February 2, 2004 Veteran Share Posted February 2, 2004 Well, first of all, if the patch isn't part of the official kernel (as it seems so since you are saying you've found out (from somewhere) that you need a patch), then you need to find the patch file (usually ending in .diff), copy it to the /usr/src/linux directory and use the patch command to apply the patch to the kernel sources (do "man patch" for instructions on using the patch command). After that, you'll need to compile the kernel. Google that as there are already plenty of tutorials and what-not for compiling a kernel. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
