optimized flash player?

Question

I have to watch lectures online and unfortunately I have to installed Adobe Flash Player. When I watch these lectures, my fans kick in and the cpu spikes most of the time. Also, the videos buffer a lot (probably bandwidth issue on their end?). Is there any way to optimize this? I use win7 pro with opera and firefox.

check to see if GPU acceleration is enabled.

if may be using software rendering in the browsers for video, and/or your graphics subsystem cannot provide hardware acceleration.

I have Use hardware acceleration when available enabled in Opera. I don't see anything GPU specific.
