And yes, Nintendo and Sony have their own series - Nintendo's success and history is literally built on them, but we're not getting Mario Kart from Nintendo every year are we? Sony haven't made a Killzone since 2013. MS is stuck in their ways with a strategy from 2007 and scared to try anything new. When they do try, they do it by buying up timed exclusives which like I covered in the X1X topic is not going to help. Those games can't stay exclusive - they need to be multi-platform to be near remotely profitable. MS can't even market them as exclusive to begin with (the E3 butchering term of "exclusive"), so people wait and buy the games elsewhere or for complete editions which include the DLC for less £$€, or MS put games up against heavy hitters which can't compete.

They haven't made a Killzone since 2013 because its an absolutely **** series..

I don't understand this entire thread derailment of new games and then new games not being new as we've seen them before even if they aren't released when I swear Sony has shown us Horizon (before release), God of War, Spiderman as their new games for the last 4 years running. Microsoft showed more games off than any other platform last E3 but I'm sure some people will always hate on the selection regardless of what they reveal and that goes for every platform and supporting fans.

If Playground can deliver Fable the way they deliver the best racing games on the planet I can't wait for that 'rehash' I've been meaning to play through the 4K (free) remaster but haven't gotten a chance to yet, any announcement but of a future title and I'll get onto it quicker but.

Would be surprised if we see a new Horizon this year if they do have something else in the works even with the new studio they put on, What else would I like to see at this E3? More original Xbox backwards compats. Some of the RARE IPs given up to some lessor developers to have a crack on, Project Gotham 4K please, A new decent Skate or TH? Pubg locked up for next gen? A new Serious Sam? Just rambling at this point and most of these don't even relate to Microsoft  More than happy with their first party line up for the rest of the year so some news about next years lineup is all I'm really after.

So I had an email from MS "inviting" watch the E3 presentation in a few weeks. I'm not sure if it's anything, but I noticed that the invite was 30 mins longer than normal so 2 hours instead of the usual 1 and half hours.

May be nothing, but could be something :P

Yep 2 hours, I'll be watching on Mixer on my X. Last year they gave a bunch of games to me for free for doing so. Don't expect it again but was a nice surprise last time.

The extra half hour could be too talk up some new hardware, we should be getting a new elite controller as well as then showing the accessibility controller in action.  Or since that's already announced maybe something else. Or would be super cool to just get more games.

I was going to probably get this at some point on the PC, but now I'm thinking I might just get it for the X and work on my gamerscore some more.

Damn I joined a little late. Missed Halo news.

Watching Fallout 76 now.

Shame we don't really learn much more about Fallout 76 now, guess they're saving that for later.

Whilst a sequel, not sure that you need to play the first. Finally some different environments.

Well, Gears 5 and Gears tactics.   Big Cyberpunk 2077 teaser finally at the end to.    I number of timed exclusives, nothing new as far as that goes, business as usual.

Well, I think overall it was a solid showing, with the new studios it makes things more interesting for E3 2019 that's for sure.  I think they probably held some stuff back, there was talk about a new elite controller as well.

All the best games were third party. Can't wait to see Fallout 76 later.

I guess the job listings and rumours are true about PlayGround working on Fable, now that we see the engine and location they've used for Horizon 4.

GG on finally getting some studios, but it's too late for this gen. Sounds like MS knows it too and are working on NextBox. Very smart and definitely what I've been hoping they'd do.

This gen has another 2-3 years left in it probably, you should see something from a few of them who have just finished a game, like Ninja Theory, or are close to releasing one.

Sony just said they won't be doing any new hardware in the next three years or something, so this gen still has legs.

I'd be surprised if Sony can keep their momentum if true.

So countering an assumption by the WSJ of 3 years with a guess of 2 years from other outlets.   Basically it's anyones guess.    The fan game sites were talking up 2019 for the longest, now it's slowly shifting into 2020, make of that what you will.   I see it as a case of the PS4 Pro not making up it's costs yet, and no reason for Sony to rush a PS5 out sooner rather than later.   Late 2020 is a best case guess at this point.

All the signs point to a release sooner rather than later. Cerny is touring the devs putting together the hardware, the hardware itself is practically here and ready to go in the industry, Sony have said PS4 is entering the last stage of its life cycle, their game lineup is covering the next year and a half, and now we even have Microsoft and Bethesda talking about next-gen on stage. You don't do that if its a dot on the horizon.

If the goal is to release in 2020, since the lineup till then for the PS4 is covered, though we'll see.  Then you'll just kill any PS4 Pro sales flat out, and I don't know if they've sold enough to not worry about it, or maybe they'll just take a hit and forget about it.   But the goal is to make money, personally if I wanted to release a PS5 sooner, i'd kill off the base PS4, you've sold enough and made the hardware costs off of that back already.   Drop the PS4 Pro price to $299, and keep it plus whatever the PS5 ends up as going forward.
