Oh dear, dual G5 ruined

Recommended Posts

Jeez get a grip folks, the computer is HIS, he can do the hell what he wants with it, whats the big deal here? you're trying to force your views and values on him, which never works... and remember: its just a damn COMPUTER for ****'s sake! All these people saying "Oh woe is me, I'm physically ill at the thought..." get something IMPORTANT to complain about... this doesn't affect anyone but him. And it made him happier. So where's the harm in that?

in a statement where you say it's his computer, he can do whatever he wants, we shouldn't care, do you realize that now YOU are putting your views and values on US? if we want to get physically ill, becuase we think it's important, than whats the harm in that? your logic is so flawed...

Also a PC user, I think that's plain sad... Even who cares about switching computer, that's his choice, but to do it after his parents had picked it out just for him... That's just shameful.

Sad...

even though i would not buy a mac myself, if my parents would give me one as gift, i'd definitely not tear it apart in pieces to put a pc mobo in it. no way. i'd use it as another computer. what a moron that guy is!

Oh yeah Jimmy decide to ruin that computer you bought him, he switched out the parts of the 3000 dollar machine for an old ****ty computer....good job giving your kid expensive things to mess with....oh yeah Im also pregnate by him...but i gave him syphillis so it workes out better for me, MR. and Mrs. Killgler....

its like people who would do something to a car with something cheaper....

BroChaos,

Because its not important. Its just wires and chips and stuff. And please, dear God, don't anyone suggest that it is art being ruined or anything ridiculous like that.

Its just some spoilt rich kid with an unwanted christmas present, nothing to get hot under the collar about, or especially physically sick about.

Although, if it does get people physically sick, some cad should get a case and start to film "G5 Case Torture videos", y'know, rotating a G5 case over a fire, shooting it, etc!

This situation should be an opportunity for someone to design a pc compadible case that looks just like the G5 case. There is a lot of money that could be made and this disturbing situation would be avoided alltoghether.

again, important to who? you? me? who's to say? stop putting your ideas and values on me, and the group as a whole. people value different things, and you are not the judge of that.

that will probably happen. it happened with the plastic flavors that the g3/emac or whatever had. hp, compaq, everyone soon had the same colorful clear plastic stuff.

How can someone be SO f******* STUPID

Wait a minute...

This kid must have such a bad relationship with his parents that they did not know what he wanted for Christmas, did not even know what OS he used, could not be bothered to find out, and got him something that was just expensive.

Previous posters have said that this kid was lucky to get the Mac. Perhaps his situation is not that great after all.

But he is still stupid

This could have been avoided if his parents had bothered to give a gift that he wanted, instead of one they wanted him to have!!!

If this kid had asked for a new snow board, and his parents gave him some new skis, would you blame him if he converted them to something closer to what he actually wanted???? Try to remember that it is just a computer (it's not a holy icon, or the secret to world peace), and it was a gift to him... that means it was his property to do with as he pleased.

If I found that my son had done this I'd feel horrible, like a real ass, for two reasons:

1) That I'd spent that much money on a gift without finding out in advance if it was what he wanted

2) The fact that he felt like he had to hide it from me... that he didn't feel like he could just say "WTF dad... this isn't what I asked for!"

Right On

Come on, it was a $3k machine...even if i was in the position of not wanting a G5 (like that's going to happen), i would still keep and use it, and would probably find it to be useful in some way, rather than converting it..

1) They probably wanted to give him something he wasn't expecting, like a really powerful G5 (because everyone likes powerful machines...), with good intentions. It's always nice to surprise someone.

2) Yeah really nice way of putting it..very grateful.
