mihir
I upgraded to Panther a few months back and since I've had problems networking with Windows under Wi-Fi and smaller problems under CAT5. If I go to GO > Connect to Server, it comes up with this new REALLY CRAPPY dialogue. Whatever IP address I put in, it comes up with some error message saying that the location can't be found. If I link it up through a CAT5 then I can browse to the network through Finder. Any ideas?
digitallaughter
are you using smb://iphere ?in the connect box
Tim Dorr Veteran Posted January 29, 2004 Veteran Share Posted January 29, 2004 First, try opening up Terminal.app and pinging the machine (ping 192.168.1.xxx) . If you can't physically connect to it, it's something with the network settings. If it does connect, you may have some issues with the way you're trynig to connect. Double check your useing the smb:// prefix and that the networking services are on with both computers.
