Me Have Question

Not one of those questions!

I was just wondering, at what point do threads become post count locked? I've noticed that most "XXXX reaches X000 posts!" are turning that way, as well as some birthday threads.

Also, who has the ability to actually designate the threads as such?

Threads become post locked when we know that there is going to be quite a few replies in a thread, depending on the nature of the topic itself.

All the staff can post lock any thread that they think needs it at their discretion.

Radish?

Just curious.. Say for example, there's a thread with 40 posts already. It's becoming a bit of a spamfest, and a mod decides to postcount lock it. If I posted two posts in said thread before the post count lock, does that mean once it's locked, I get two posts subtracted from my post count? Or does this only affect posts made after the thread is locked?

So Post Lock means when I post some posts in an affected thread, my post count will not increase?

For example, I post 3 in a thread with post lock on, and I have made 5555 posts, the post count will stay at 5555 unless I post somewhere else.
