Hmmm a lesson learnt perhaps. Play with betas and you get burned. Especially leaked ones. It's never a good idea to go ahead and install them on your main workstation. Btw is there an option to uninstall the upgrade ? I wouldnt know as i have not tried it yet. A sytem restore perhaps ?

Anywho as for the log off screen ( i think this is what you mean ) try going to Control Panel > User Accounts > look for the option that says " change the way users log on or off " > then select the option that says " Use Welcome Screen".

Try and see if that helps. It could be that the service pack inadvertently disabled this.

As I see it there are only two valid reasons why anyone would actually want to install a beta service pack:

? You are helping Microsoft test the product, or

? You are absolutely drimad bconfirmed bug in the original version.

[rant - apologies, but it must be said: nothing personal]

Which of these applies to you? Neither? Thought so. I expect you downloaded and installed this risky leaked beta simply so you could see "SP1" written in the About box. Or maybe you didn't think before you jumped at the latest th;)g ;)

Downloading and installing leaked betas of new products (like Windows XP last summer) I can understand - it's exciting to have the latest features to play with. But a service pack? Service packs don't introduce new features - they have minor tweaks at best, so where's the thrill in installing the latest betas of them? I usually find installing even the final service pack to be a big anticlimax.
