ad345zAdZ0d9_
I really really really want to get back into linux. I have a passion for opensourse, and I need something fun to mess around on. On my old laptop I could use mandrake and redhat no problem, but I my new lappy there are problems. When the kernel is booting and going through the [OK] sequences, it always hangs on the power function one, just before the end of the startup, and the bookup into KDE. This happens every single time, so I decided to boot in power mode so I could skip the thing that was hanging the system. This worked, although now when KDE or gnome boots they hang on the splash screens. Its these damn power chips I bet you. I dont think i can disable them in the BIOS... Anybody with any suggestions?
