Nanorobot
What is the packing system in SUSE? I know it's RPM based, but does it have something like APT in it? I have been running Debian for ages and Synaptic/ APT rocks. Debian is grat if you want a pure linux disto. My latest Debian installs were a copy of Knoppix. When is Linux going to get a decent XFree?
Rockett15
;) dunno about APT but I do know Ximian Redcarpet does work on SuSE.. helps to solve a lot of rpm dependancies and keep your box up2date :) However, fedora does have an APT/YUM package set-up and works quite well for me :) Edited February 1, 2004 by Rockett15
UKer
apt is available and works fine on suse, search for 'apt for suse' on google. It's practically a necessity if you want more exotic packages, but otherwise the RPM manager that suse provides is good (as well as red carpet).
