Update. Lampert bought 400 "profitable" stores at the beginning of the year. A month ago they announced they were going to close 26 stores. There are now reports of an additional 100 closings on top of that.

Here to watch Sears/KMART take probably the last spin before it fully drops down the drain.

 

they are closing an additional 96 stores starting in early December bringing the total number of stores down to 182 nation wide.. California seems to be losing the most. Christmas is going to be brutal and probably be the very last nail in this very sad tale. They are basically running less than 4 stores per state at this point.
