infinite edits is currently a subscriber perk if you wish to join

 

the reason normal members do not get infinite edits is due to it being terribly abused in the past. members would ask a question then when it was answered they would edit their OP and delete the question just putting -solved- or something completely random so the thread wasn't useful to anyone else as one example.

 

an alternative to editing yourself; if you ever have an update to add to the OP just report it and include the requested update and a mod will update your OP when we come across the report
