Can’t install 1809

It goes to 75% of “Working on Updates” part of the install and my laptop bluescreened and undid the install.

Any remedies?! Please.

Check the Event Viewer to see if there is more information about the error. There seems to be compatibility issues with various device drivers, so it could be related to that.

I know in previous updates on a particular Asus machine the Wan card was causing issues. Unless disabled (or maybe pulled) before the update. It would die around that same 75% mark.

Ahh WW ... we meet again lol.

I found the event viewer log file. 0x8024200D error code. Something to do with Windows Update not being reset.

Should I try that?

I have two (one’s Ethernet and other’s WiFi) and both are “hard soiled” to my laptop. Not a pull-out card kind.

Maybe disable in device manager.

I disabled just 2 but a whole bunch of “WAN mini ports” are left enabled. Tried the upgrade ... still bluescreened. After a lot of cursing .... should I disable all the WAN miniports? If so, well eff lol. Should I try the WU reset thing and disk cleanup too?

I'd look online for your exact model of laptop and this issue. see if other people with this exact same laptop also have this issue.

Fingers crossed. I uninstalled Malwarebytes and did a disk cleanup. Here’s hoping.

Nope it’s not a SSD. It’s a HDD. And, I have plenty of space.

Oh and another thing to note, all of the previous updates worked fine since I got Win 10 back on July 29th, 2015. The updates of 1511, 1607, 1703, 1709, and both revisions of 1803 (17133 and 17134) ALL Installed just fine. 1809 is the first VERY problematic one for me.

Might as well wait until a fixed version comes out.

I have had issues before with these updates. I  just download and use the update assistant when I run in to issues like this.
