Video Surveillance Recommendations

Recommended Posts

Arceles    402

Good day all,

In the past I had a bit of experience regarding video surveillance, connecting a network cam (a tplink one) to a router and then administrating it with iSpy.

My question is, what would be a preferred setup, both hardware and software, for which three cams would be used?

iSpy is still a good software for this?

Both wired and wireless solutions are ok (as long as they can be managed with the same program)

Budget it is not a problem, but the more conscious about it the better.

Thanks in advance.

I spy is fine for a free video surveillance software.  If you don’t know what it is, look it up.  It isn’t any more of a spying software than any other video surveillance software is.

There are others out there that are cheap/free.   Ubiquiti has free software for their cameras for an alternative.

In my experience, ispy is a CPU hog.

Other than being a cpu hog, do you find any other problem with it?

That's as far as I got with the application. The CPU usage was so crazy I stopped and went looking for something else. I'm currently using Hikvision's Free desktop NVR software for windows.
