grimreaper
usually when i uninstall an app i just delete the program from applications folder cos there is no uninstaller but sometime those apps leave files in the library folder. man, im sick of looking for them and delete them one by one. how do you mac experts deal with this problem? NeoMayhem
Open a finder window, and type the name of the app in the search box. The fast search will show you the app and all its prefs, just press Apple+A and then Apple+Delete, and they will all be in the trash ;)

isus
that or just leave them. unlike in windows, where crap left in the registry can hinder performance, these are just files, and will not hurt osx.

Ya, they are simple XML files. I usually just don't deal with it and then every so often just look through my library and delete anything I don't need anymore. However, Neomayhem's advice is probably the best way to go about it. ;)
am_fek
Stop thinking like a Windows user. The files won't hurt in any way, and you may end up wanting them again one day if you ever decide to reuse the app or something. I'd just leave them there. It won't hurt a bit. They are doing nothing more than occupying a few kilobytes of HDD space. I'd just like to say that I've spent the last 3 hours trying to format an NTFS drive and install Windows XP, and still to no avail. I finally got a copy going only for \windows\config\system or something to be corrupted by the SP1 installer, rendering the system useless, and consigning me to another install session. I swear to god this is the last time I ever deal with that crapware. This is just the kind of thing you never, ever have to deal with in OS X. Sit back and relax. That feeling in your head like something terrible is going to happen just because you're not constantly preoccupied with bull**** little niggles, that's just your old siege paranoia totally beside itself and not sure what to do now that it's really true - you don't have to worry about this stuff anymore. Seriously.
danbalsh
A bit Offtopic, but I wish OS X developers would all use the same method for installtions, some use the drag and drop method (my fav) and some use Installers :( It's quite confusing for some people (no not me :p ) when there are mutiple ways of installing diffrent applications. HaHa, "Windows keeping 1000's in a job" maybe that should replaces MS's "Where do you want to go today?" moto
