redfish Posted March 20, 2019 Share Posted March 20, 2019 Nah. When I was a kid and AfterDark came out I played around with that a bit, and even created my own screen savers. Then I also made some DOS screensavers. The concept is fun. But I've never really felt a need to use them on my computer, especially now since they aren't necessary anymore; but I never really felt a need to use them at the time either. It feels like a kind of vanity thing like custom ringtones etc. Although its possible today to have animated Desktop wallpapers, so why not an animated Lock Screen background? I'm sure some could be obnoxious, but then you could have abstract designs that animate also just in order to keep the image "alive" and give it some ambient quality...
