The second AMD driver update of the month landed today, delivering support for Battlefield V, which launches officially to Standard Edition owners today. It's unclear what exactly does the new Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition 18.11.2 driver brings along as optimizations for the World War II shooter, as the usual benchmark results weren't included.
The 18.11.1 driver suite from earlier this month also had Battlefield V optimizations which bumped up performance by up to 9% on Radeon cards, but it was aimed at the game's early release version. Still, it's recommended that those who've picked up Battlefield V install the new driver for the best experience.
Although the list of bug fixes included in this driver only has two entries, it fixes a certain memory clock issue that has been plaguing RX Vega graphics cards for a while. Here are the resolved and known issues of the 18.11.2 driver:
Fixed Issues
- Radeon RX Vega Series graphics products may experience elevated memory clocks during system idle.
- Radeon Software update notifications may sometimes incorrectly list the currently installed driver as an available software update.
Known Issues
- Some systems running multiple displays may experience mouse lag when at least one display is enabled but powered off.
- Assassin’s Creed™: Odyssey may experience a game crash at certain locations of the game on Windows®7 enabled system configurations.
Meanwhile, AMD released its new RX 590 graphics card earlier this month. The 12nm GPU is primarily aimed at 1080p and 1440p resolution gaming, boasting around a 12% performance boost over the RX 580. Moreover, the company recently changed up the bundle of games that come with its graphics cards to include Devil May Cry 5, The Division 2, and Resident Evil 2.
