Duckie
Is there a registry edit? Or maybe an app that will help me. I have done the obvious, but to no avail. Display Properties only allow 72x72 and looking for icon references in the registry is...well...you know... Any help would be appreciated. BroChaos Veteran Posted February 9, 2002 Veteran Share Posted February 9, 2002 i think there's already a million threads about this. ;) but under HKCUControl PanelDesktopWindows Metrics will get the trick done :p cheers, joe
Duckie
Thanks mate, Unfortunately, it didn't do the trick. Seems WinXP likes to reset it after you close RegEdit. I am glad, however, that some ppl on this board are still freindly and prompt. Duckie
Dazzla Veteran Posted February 9, 2002 Veteran Share Posted February 9, 2002 HKEY_CURRENT_USERControl PanelDesktopWindowMetrics then change "Shell Icon Size" to what you want. You either need to restart or use tweak UI to get the icons at 128 then. To use tweak UI, go to repair then pick rebuild icons, click repair now. That should do it. Although I warn you the 128 x 128 Icons will be all over your system; start menu, autoplay, common dialogs, places bar, folders, etc...
Duckie
Yes, i know about the fact that they overwhelm the rest of the OS, but i just had to do it for this reason... Can you tell the differences? The first is my Windows XP machine with ObjectBar, Object Dock, About This Mac, and AquaBrowser. The second is a real shot of Mac OS X on Timan's machine. onyxcorp
I can tell the difference. The shadows suck in the Windows version. The font smoothing sucks in the Windows version. IE doesn't look like the real IE in the Windows version. Other than that...
