Tim Dorr Veteran Posted February 3, 2004 Veteran Share Posted February 3, 2004 It's MyDOOM. MyDOOM does a search of your harddrive looking for anything that looks like a domain name and sends itself to anyone in the address book or random email addresses based on that domain name. As a result, someone (maybe not even someone that knows you) had neowin.net on their HDD in a place that MyDOOM found and spoofed it as coming at ted@neowin.net. Nothing to worry about. I don't think neowin.net is suceptible to MyDOOM, as it's running on Linux ;)
