As many of you may know, Brown v. Board of Education was a landmark Supreme Court decision that makes segregation of public school illegal.

As a result of this decision, segregation academies were founded for the sake of having exclusively white schools.

These schools still exist today.

I would support this only for the fact that if all other races can have it, it is only equal that whites can as well. Aside from that, i don't know why anyone would want to be divided based on color.  Color shouldn't matter, only culture, attitude, ability and life-choices should. Before some idiots jump and call me racist, i am in interracial marriage with an interracial child. Point: don't be that guy.

Nope.

Segregated academies are still going strong in the South today.

Nope. Me either.  The "my best friend is Black" is as bad as the both sides excuse.

People should NEVER get a head start just for being a particular race or color it should go by performance and that means getting rid of black and white segregation. Remember people that there is plenty of academies for just Black people too and that's wrong as well.

Autauga Academy

All it took was a look at the first one on your list to find out that you're, as usual, full of it.

https://www.greatschools.org/alabama/prattville/1640-Autauga-Academy/

If that's not enough there are pictures on the schools website that show black students.

If the first one is wrong I would question the validity of the list and your purpose for creating this thread.

These schools have to admit a token number of black students to keep their non-profit status.

For example, Indianola Academy is 1% black despite the fact that Indianola, Mississippi is 79% black.

Okay. Would it be a problem if it was the other way around?

If there are schools that are just for keeping out white students, that would definitely be a problem.

Okay. So show us a school that is just for keeping out black students?

The two we've examined so far aren't. By your own admission.

Indianola Academy and other segregation academies were founded for the sake of keeping out black students.

That is a well established fact.

That is a well known fact.

I will take your word at face value and believe you despite evidence from the two we've looked at so far that says different.

I don't see anything that says that black students aren't allowed.    in fact, they have less hispanic students.  are they not allowed also?

oops, quoted the wrong message.   that was to Mockingbird....

The school can't say that its policy is to only admits white students because it would lose its tax exempt status, but it's common knowledge to the people who live in the city.

I read it. But there are a number of problems with that idea and it's completely stupid so I ignored it.

But I get it. Those darn white people are their racism.

My mother's side of the family is from Alabama.

I am under no illusion that they view blacks as equal to whites. (They certainly do not.)

That said, I have never group "white people" in general as racists.
