FIles cut/pasted to CD

Recommended Posts

Hi,

It is a weird problem. Someone I know cut the files on hardisk and pasted to CD, and probably did not know about burning it. Indeed, the files are not showing in the CD when viewed from another system.

Since, she cut the files on the source system, will they be available on the source system? I believe the paste operation was not actualized, since the files were not burnt. Anyways, I never encountered this case. If anyone can throw light, I be most grateful!

I think only DVD-RW can do that...

still they need to 'write to disk' or burn. Will the files still be available on source hdd?

If she "cut" (aka move) them from the source to the CD ... then they will not be available on the source (if Windows thought the operation was successful).

Now, if she didn't actually burn the disc ... the files are probably still waiting to be written....in other words the cut files should be under the drive letter for the CD drive like so...
