How can I mount an External Hard Drive in Windows 10 that was originally used on a Nvidia Shield

Recommended Posts

Good Afternoon,

I used to run Plex on my Nvidia shield and I have all my movies stored on an external USB 3.0 3TB Hard drive. I no longer have my Nvidia shield and now want to set up Plex on my Windows 10 PC. The problem I have is, Windows 10 is seeing my external USB hard drive but it won't allow me to mount it.

I don't want to format the drive as I have well over 800 movies stored on it.

How can I sort this?

Thanks in advance

What format/file system did the nVidia shield use for the external drive?  Do you know?   I'm thinking it's some format Windows doesn't like which would make things tricky.

Use MiniTool Partition Wizard (one of my fav btw) and check it to see what partition it uses if there is any.

And just select the partition delete it and create a new one.
