Around this time in 2018, Google released the first developer preview for Android 9.0 Pie which introduced support for the display notch, among other features. Now, it may be logical to expect the same thing for the next iteration of Android.
Well, Google appears to have just formally opened the bug tracker program for Android Q, albeit quietly. XDA Developers' Mishaal Rahman first spotted the bug tracker page after it has gone live with a form for submitting reports about issues related to the operating system prior to its public release.
In order to access the bug tracker, click the component dropdown menu and choose "Android Public Tracker > Android Beta (Developer Preview) > OEM" from the default non-OEM submissions form. It's interesting to note the March 11 date filter for bug searches, which may suggest that the beta testing will officially kick off on Monday.
The latest development comes a few days after Iliyan Malchev from Google's Project Treble team revealed that more companies will be joining the beta program for the upcoming Android release. At its I/O 2018 conference, Google announced that the Android P Beta would be available to more devices from several companies including Nokia, OPPO, Vivo, Xiaomi, OnePlus, Sony, and Essential in addition to the Google Pixel phones. It remains to be seen, however, if those same companies will participate in the Android Q beta.
