Metro Exodus update brings Xbox One keyboard and mouse support, New Game+ and more

4A Games' recent third entry to the Metro franchise, Exodus, received its first major update today across all platforms, bringing mouse and keyboard support for Xbox One, a New Game+ mode, developer commentary, and much more.

Named the Ranger Update, players will now be able to find a New Game+ mode waiting for them once they complete the campaign. This gives players control over various aspects of how they replay the game, from making it a breeze to adding more challenging conditions.

Some of these options include starting with all weapons and equipment unlocked, reducing weapon slots to just one, disabling crafting using the backpack, increasing enemy difficulty, upping the bad weather, and more. Players can also enable developer commentary in this mode to find out what went behind the scenes when making each area. An Iron Mode that disables saving between levels is also available for daring players.

Meanwhile, in the platform-specific changes section, 4A has added official Xbox One mouse and keyboard support for Metro Exodus, joining the slowly growing implementation much like Sea of Thieves did last week. Alongside DualShock and Steam Controller support, RTX and DLSS improvements have arrived for the PC version.

The Ranger Update's full patch notes, containing numerous changes, bug fixes, and performance improvements in addition to the above features, are split into two parts: One for PC and one for consoles. The developer said the update is around 6GB in size, but download sizes may vary across platforms. It seems that on Steam, the update is only a 1.8GB download.
