George P Global Moderator Posted May 30, 2019 Global Moderator Share Posted May 30, 2019 I'll check this out for sure, I just hope it has the emotional weight of the first one. Can't say from the trailer, comes off as just another action flick. trag3dy 1 Share
Orange
Did you watch Rambo (4) Loved that one, pure kill fest! I don't think it be any where near First Blood which is a shame but i think it was made that way with Richard Creena character "Colonel Trautman"

Stalone could be anyone else and the name could be anything else. I don't get Rambo at all from it.
McCordRm
This is a pure nostalgia orgasm for me. I grew up with "mindless action movies", and other than John Wick, I've been severely disappointed as of late. I don't care about the plot or who else is starring in it, just give me Sly as a professional killing machine and I'll be happy as hell. George P Global Moderator Posted June 1, 2019 Global Moderator Share Posted June 1, 2019 While 2 and 3 were more action than the 1st one, they still had a fare share of emotion to them. I think they're underrated in that respect. The 4th is just a guilty kill fest though it tries to send a message that while people will try to go into a foreign land and try to change it to match their own values, it never works. You can't force change from the outside, it has to happen on it's own internally. Which is why the Western aid group or w/e it was, ended up knee deep in it thinking they were doing the right thing only to have reality slap them in the face, hard. From memory it goes like this... 1st is about vets returning and being tossed to the side like they don't matter. 2nd is about POWs left behind and, you guessed it, forgotten. 3rd is about invading a place and trying to take it over for greedy reasons (russians invading Afghanistan for oil, much like the US later on), showing how there is no real meaning to war anymore, and it's a global game. 4th I listed above. So yeah, I get people just want the action and a good popcorn flick but I think the Rambo movies are underrated story wise.

Oh don't get me wrong, 2 and 3 was good movies, more so 3 but Rambo 1 was by far the best as it had the best story to tell whiles having enough action, the ones after Rambo 4 ware done decades later and that is where it went silly, I mean, how old is he now, 75 or something? Whatever age Sly is, hehe. That's why this is the last one, so he can put it to bed like he did with Rocky. And the 2 Creed movies don't count since he's a supporting character in those. notta
I imagine Sly will kill John Rambo off in this one considering it's the last movie and he's a soldier.

He might, hell, he wanted to kill Rocky off at the end of 5 but the studio didn't allow it. Which was for the best in the long run because the Creed movies are better with the Rocky character in them, IMO.
